Al Jazeera Media Network has obtained ISO 27001:2013 certification for an Information Security Management System. This certification is one of the most prestigious in the world in the field of information security management.

The procedures and regulations for information security practiced in Al Jazeera Media Network have been reviewed and scrutinized by the British Standards Institution (BSI). The certificate was handed to Al Jazeera officials during a special celebration held in Al Jazeera’s Headquarters and attended by the British Ambassador, HE Ajay Sharma and a BSI representative.

During the celebration, Dr. Mostefa Souag, acting Director General, said information security has become a necessity for all organizations and must be in continual progress all the time; especially that the main websites of the network are not the only targets of the hackers, rather the employees’ personal accounts as well. Dr. Souag commended the management and the employees of the Technology and Operations Division and information security directorate for their efforts.

Technology and Network Operations Executive Director, Mohamed Abuagleh, said: "working on improving the information systems and security is a continuous practice in Al Jazeera thanks to the continuous innovative ways used to hack the digital platforms". He pointed out that Al Jazeera is employing the latest technologies of information security in the world, and continuously working on raising its employees’ awareness of protecting their information and their personal accounts on various social and digital platforms.
